Munich, January 16, 2024—Over 1,500 exhibitors from around the world are coming to LogiMAT 2024 to present their full portfolios of cutting-edge solutions delivering efficiency and flexibility in intralogistics, including many never before exhibited anywhere else. The extra bonus of a comprehensive accompanying program underscores once more LogiMAT’s reputation as a trade show with added value and a leading presentation, information, and communication platform in the intralogistics industry.

Intralogistics industry professionals from around the world will gather March 19–21 at the Messe Stuttgart convention center for LogiMAT 2024 under this year’s theme of “SHAPING CHANGE TOGETHER - Sustainability - AI  - Ergonomics.” Over 1,500 exhibitors from 40 countries will once again fill 125,000 square meters of exhibit space in all ten exhibit halls, including the East and West Entrance areas, presenting the latest products, solutions, and software systems for efficient intralogistics to an audience of industry professionals from around the world. Some 150 companies are exhibiting at LogiMAT for the first time. A full 35 percent of this year’s exhibitors are from outside Germany, and 86 are coming from overseas, including 48 from China, 5 from Taiwan, and 23 from North America. The exhibitor traveling the farthest is Genie Grips, an Australian manufacturer of forklift attachments and safety systems.

Munich-based event organizer EUROEXPO Messe- und Kongress-GmbH chose the theme of “Sustainability – AI – Ergonomics” to reflect both current intralogistics industry trends and the spectrum of solutions on display. “Most of the world’s leading developers, manufacturers, and solution providers coming to LogiMAT are exhibiting products with a focus on at least one of the three main themes,” explains Exhibition Director Michael Ruchty. “The spectrum ranges from the automation and digital transformation of business processes in the face of skilled labor shortages, to options for conserving energy or ensuring the efficient use of resources, to AI-based tools for the fast, smart analysis of captured data. Other themes include IT network security and supply chain resilience.” Various exhibitors across every industry segment have also already announced plans to debut products and innovations never before exhibited anywhere in the world.

Innovations in efficient material handling

The event management team has arranged for a clear organization of exhibitors by industry segment in the ten exhibit halls to minimize walking distances and help visitors quickly find what they’re looking for. The systems integrators and industrial machinery and equipment manufacturers, traditionally the largest group of exhibitors, will present their latest products and solutions for moving goods efficiently in Halls 1, 3, 5 (including the gallery), and 7. The focus there will be on innovations in material handling technology, such as a new 3D sorter and an automated solution for sorting double-high throughputs. Also on display: innovative shuttle solutions and end-to-end solutions for automatic small parts storage designed to further enhance efficiency and digital transformation in intralogistics. Other new products that have already been announced include an automatic dispenser that functions as a storage system for consumables, new cobot grippers, and a new type of oxygen-reduction fire prevention and protection system powered by fuel cell technology. In Halls 7 and 9 on the north wing of the convention center, manufacturers and suppliers of cranes and handling systems, fire protection and safety systems, and gates and loading technology will also present their latest innovations.

All leading industrial truck manufacturers represented

Exhibitors in the group specializing in industrial truck technology, attachments, and energy management will be presenting the latest solutions for intralogistics transport in Hall 9 and in Hall 10 just opposite on the south wing of the convention center, including live demonstrations in the adjacent outdoor area. All the world’s leading manufacturers in this segment will once again be represented this year in Stuttgart. The most notable product debuts anticipated include tugger trains, low-lift pallet trucks, walkie stackers, articulated forklifts, next-generation assistance systems, and sensors for automated guided vehicles (AGVs). Hydrogen and fuel cells are taking on a greater role alongside lithium-ion batteries as energy storage systems in the design of new industrial trucks to improve battery and energy management in electric powertrain technology. This trend will be reflected in the exhibited products. New multifunctional forklift attachments offer enhanced flexibility and cost-efficiency.

Overview of software solutions

Software developers in Hall 8 will focus on innovative solutions for future-proof warehouse, transport, and supply chain management with integrated end-to-end data transfer. Apps, IT platforms, and cloud solutions with new features and AI algorithms for efficient process control, simulations, and smart data filtering and analytics deliver new options for optimizing and accelerating warehouse performance and implementation times. In response to the current demand for process optimization and facility management, exhibitors will showcase software solutions capable of running simulations and virtual launches and generating digital twins of production and logistics processes. Also on display: new AI tools that enhance warehouse management systems to predict order volume and material flow bottlenecks.

Innovative warehouse robotics and AMRs/AGVs

Exhibitors specializing in AGV systems and autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) will be right next door in Hall 6 offering hands-on high-tech experiences. They’ll present their latest equipment innovations incorporating new advances in adjacent fields such as sensor technologies and AI, from AGVs and AMRs to shuttles and the latest stationary industrial robots and mobile picking robots. There you’ll also find a new outdoor AMR for new use cases.

Future of packaging and AIDC

Packaging manufacturers and packaging technology companies will be presenting their latest innovations in Hall 4. The focus will be on sustainable packaging solutions and modular packing station designs and components. Examples include adhesive solutions for custom transport packaging and plastic-free solutions for secure pallet transport that are fully compatible with the paper recycling process. The packaging lines and new filling and sealing machines will include a new solution for producing sustainable cushioning material from used cardboard and a filling and sealing machine for e-commerce applications. Specially configurable thermal containers and integrated cross-industry smart container and storage solutions have also been announced.

Hall 2 serves as the main hub for anyone interested in automatic identification and data capture (AIDC) technology, with nearly all the approximately 80 providers specializing in identification, RFID, and sensor technology together in one place presenting their latest AIDC products and solutions. The innovations include a scan-free identification solution and a wireless collision warning system for rack storage facilities and intralogistics transports.

Live events and presentations highlight solutions

The accompanying program of LogiMAT 2024 is offering a first-ever deep dive into current developments in the field of mobile robotics. Forum AGV (www.forum-fts.com/en) is collaborating with the Association of German Engineers (VDI) to present the Mobile Robotics User Forum in Hall 6 (Gallery, Booth 6H01), offering visitors the opportunity for one-on-one consultations with experts to help them choose the right AGV/AMR solution. The Mobile Robotics User Forum, Tracking & Tracing Theatre (Hall 2, Booth 2B07), and Cargo Securement Event Space (Hall 9, Booth 9B71) together offer three series of live events at LogiMAT. Another first: The LogiMAT Campus debuts on March 21 in the ICS Center (C1.2) next to Hall 2. This career and networking event for university and trade schools students, or anyone from any professional background seeking to launch a career in logistics, offers direct contact to potential employers in the logistics industry. The East Entrance Atrium will also serve once more as a key event space at LogiMAT, hosting the opening ceremony, the “Best Product” awards ceremony, and a total of 16 Expert Forums taking place throughout the event and focusing on the three main themes of LogiMAT 2024. Many exhibitors are also offering an inside look at their companies and featured products and solutions in a program of “Exhibitor Insights” in Halls 7 (Forum North) and 8 (Forum South).

“The overall package of more than 1,500 exhibitors and the comprehensive accompanying program underscores once more LogiMAT’s reputation as a trade show with added value and a leading presentation, information, and communication platform in the intralogistics industry,” Ruchty concludes. “This makes LogiMAT a source of inspiration for intralogistics professionals from around the world—an absolute must-attend event for anyone seeking to keep up with the latest technological advances.“
