LogiMAT 2018 in Stuttgart

LogiMAT 2018 – the added-value event: Accompanying Programme

In-depth and comprehensive information on the ongoing topical issues of digitisation, Industry 4.0, Logistics 4.0 and the Internet of Things (IoT) – that sums up the unique calibre of the accompanying programme for the 16th International Trade Fair for Intralogistics Solutions and Process Management.

For the LogiMAT trade audience, the concept of first-hand intralogistics represents a long-established tradition, referring both to communication with exhibitors and the ambitious accompanying programme,” enthuses Peter Kazander, LogiMAT Exhibition Director and Managing Director of EUROEXPO Messe- und Kongress-GmbH of Munich. “With the motto: ‘Digital – Connected – Innovative’, the 16th International Trade Fair for Intralogistics Solutions and Process Management encapsulates not only the current challenges in intralogistics and supply chain management, but also the range of issues at stake, in particular in the many trade forums.”

With a unique accompanying programme, LogiMAT 2018 lives by this motto throughout the three days of the trade fair: Three serial live events, more than 40 experts’ talks by exhibitors every day in the ‘Innovations Forum’ and around 30 different 90-minute lecture blocks with more than 100 selected experts from business, academia and the specialist press. They cover the public’s need for clarification and information regarding trending topics that are currently moving markets and will continue to do so. There will be particular focus on digital transformation and the future projects of Industry 4.0, Logistics 4.0 and the Internet of Things (IoT). “With the competent information provision at conference level in the middle of the halls, we will once again offer our trade audience an exhibition with significant added value” sums up Exhibition Director Peter Kazander.

Integration of new technologies

The theme of digitisation runs like a common thread throughout the exhibition. This concerns on the one hand subjects such as ‘Narrow Band IoT, 5G and the Industrial Data Space in Logistics’ (13.3.2018, Forum A, Hall 1). They enable optimisation by transfer of small volumes of data over long periods of time to points that are not easily accessible. ‘AutoID technologies’ (14.3.2018, Forum C, Hall 4) and systems for ‘Indoor localisation: A key to Industry 4.0’ (15.3.2018, Forum B, Hall 3) also concern the smart integration of new technologies into data collection and processing. Elsewhere, the process of ‘Digital transformation’ itself (15.3.2018, Forum A, Hall 1), ‘Digital tools for logistics’ (15.3.2018, Forum D, Hall 8) and the principles of optimised interaction between people and robots (13.3.2018, Forum A, Hall 1 and Forum B, Hall 3) are placed under the spotlight.

‘Transport and handling – autonomous control and operation’ (14.3.2018, Forum A, Hall 1) discusses the future requirements of intralogistics material flows with the autonomous linking of all processes. Detailed options for digital transformation and the future-proofing of ‘material flows in the age of Industry 4.0’ (14.3.2018, Forum C, Hall 4) are also examined in depth in forums aimed at the various segments of industry. For example, the DTS Forum will shed light on ‘State of the art, examples and outlook’ (13.3.2018, Forum E, Hall 9) and ‘Components in intelligent, mobile robotics’ (15.3.2018, Forum E, Hall 9). “The very concept of ‘mobile robots’ can be seen as synonymous with digital transformation and all current development trends and future intralogistics solutions,” sums up Kazander. “It covers various sensor, image-processing, data-collection and processing technologies and their integration. It also reflects the development of the hardware of materials handling vehicles and technology as well as aspects of automation and collective intelligence. Current trends in software and control technology are also addressed. It includes, too, the design of working worlds of the future, in which people and machines will interact in harmony. First-hand intralogistics throughout: Digital – Connected – Innovative. Or, to put it in a nutshell: LogiMAT2018.”

About LogiMAT

The next LogiMAT, 16th International Trade Fair for Intralogistics Solutions and Process Management, takes place at Messe Stuttgart, directly adjacent to the airport, from 13 to 15 March, 2018. This event is now regarded as the world´s largest specialist trade fair for intralogistics. It presents a comprehensive overview of the market, featuring everything of importance to the intralogistics sector from procurement to production and delivery. Here, early in the year, international exhibitors present innovative technologies, products, systems and solutions for rationalisation, process optimisation and cost-reduction in in-company logistics processes.
TradeWorld – a part of LogiMAT – is a competence platform for trading processes; it showcases products and solutions for e-commerce and omnichannel. Located in the middle of the halls, this event features an exhibition section and also each day different lecture blocks on a wide range of themes.
